​Part-Time Financial Accounting Clerk

Expected Hours: 12-19 hours (2-3 days per week)

Salary Range: Depends on qualifications ($17-$24)

Primary Purpose

Implements prescribed procedures to prepare biweekly payroll and compensation records.

Accurately processes, records and journalizes daily cash receipts, deposits and receivables.

Provides financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure efficient financial operations.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Implements prescribed procedures to prepare biweekly payroll and compensation records.

  • Calculates and records changes in compensation and payroll – i.e. Salary increases, contractual hours worked, leave taken, taxes and other legally mandated withholdings and assignments.

  • Manages payroll information, employee accrual balances, and ad hoc reporting.

  • Processes federal and state quarterly tax returns; retirement and benefit contributions; generates year-end tax reports, W-2’s, 1099’s.

  • Performs payroll reconciliation processes, maintains and troubleshoots applicable software, legislative updates and compatibility issues.  Researches and recommends solutions to system problems.

  • Maintains payroll certifications and participates in required continuing education.  Networks regularly with other certified payroll professionals and stays current with the payroll industry and tax developments.

 

Accurately processes, records and journalizes daily cash receipts, deposits and receivables.

Assists with the preparation of annual audit and budget, and other related duties as requested.

 

Provides financial, administrative, customer service and clerical services to ensure efficient financial operations.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications

Education: Minimum Associate’s or two years of business school, concentration in accounting

Experience: 2-5 years of payroll processing and accounting; (1-3yrs) cash receipting

Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; Payroll software experience

 

  • Cooperative nature with a high level of interpersonal skills as applied to interactions with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.

  • Capability to use logical thinking to solve problems, to work independently to accomplish tasks, and troubleshoot issues and bring to resolution.

  • Principles and practices of payroll processing, cash receipting, record keeping and report preparation.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines while having frequent interruptions with minimum direction.

  • Knowledge of applicable state, federal and local laws and regulations.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills are essential qualities for this position.

Dance Instructor

Job Overview:  The Dance Instructor at a park district leads dance classes and programs for community members of all ages and skill levels. This role focuses on promoting physical fitness, creativity, and a love for dance in a supportive, inclusive environment. The instructor will plan lessons, organize performances, and collaborate with other staff to enhance community engagement through dance.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate dance lessons for children aged 4-14

  • Teach various dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop) to encourage creativity and self-expression.

  • Create a positive and inclusive environment that fosters confidence and teamwork.

  • Organize performances to help students build stage presence.

  • Communicate with parents about student progress and upcoming events.

Before and After School Club Site Leader

Position Overview: The Before and After School Club Site Leader oversees and manages children during the program, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. The role involves supervising activities, supporting students academically, and maintaining clear communication with families.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children during program hours.

  • Lead a variety of engaging activities.

  • Assist students with homework.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and Park District staff.

  • Address and resolve conflicts or behavioral issues.

  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment.

 

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday (Flexible)

  • Shifts: 6:00 AM - 8:45 AM (Preferred)

  • Shifts: 2:00 PM - 6:15 PM

Soccer Referees Wanted

Are you a soccer enthusiast looking to earn extra cash? The Hanover Park Park District has an exciting opportunity for you! We're seeking referees for Saturday games, welcoming individuals aged 15 and above.  As a referee, you'll earn $20 per hour, gaining valuable experience in the game. Soccer and/or Basketball Instructor

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to coach young kids aged 4-10 in soccer and/or basketball. The role involves conducting engaging Saturday classes to teach sports fundamentals in a fun and interactive way. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in sports knowledge, and prior coaching experience would be a definite advantage. Excellent communication skills are a must, both in written and verbal interactions with colleagues and young participants.
